The North Pole: Wisemans Ferry (Sydney by Technicality XVII)

Today, we're hitting Sydney's northernmost suburb by technicality (by my definition anyway).

Wisemans Ferry

Continuing the day's drive through Hawkesburian Sydney, I crossed the border north into Wisemans Ferry, on semi-rural roads.

First order of business - a lookout!

Here, they have this thing,

but also, a lookout.

A fairly excellent lookout too, with stunning views over the valley below. 

That valley below is the main bit of the Wisemans Ferry suburb, so I got started on the winding,

and quite picturesque road down, 

to eventually reach "sea level",

and the town centre. 

Wisemans CBD was definitiely the busiest spot in town today, with a petrol station, grocery store, cafes and pub serving the locals and folks travelling through. 

It's also quite pretty. 

I continued on through town, soon hitting the appropriately named Wisemans Ferry Park.

This is actually a gorgeous and fairly large patch of land for picnics, 

playing,

or just watching The Hawkesbury go by.

It's also worth calling out that Wisemans Ferry has not one, but two car ferries which cross the Hawkesbury north out of Sydney. You've got the Wisemans Ferry - here's the Google car crossing it,

and around the corner, you've got the Webbs Creek Ferry. Also driven by the Google car.

I did not take the trip as these ferries cross The Hawkesbury River north, thus leaving Sydney, which is illegal. 

Instead, I got back on the road to pick off two rather hard-to-get-to suburbs.

Wisemans Ferry: Like most of The Hawkesbury, a very pretty place.
