After a reasonable absence, we return to our old friend the Inner West with some Lilyfield adventures. 

Lilyfield

Where the borders of the Inner West are is a much debated Sydney topic. Well, this next suburb is in the final frontiers of the Inner West, not quite yet as hip as all of those ones ending in "ham", but I'm sure it will be absorbed into the region proper in due course.  

Hurlstone Park

This next post will be a quick one. Ordinarily I'd combine this with another suburb, but the last suburb was way too long already, and this was my last suburb of the day. As such, I welcome you to the small suburb of  

Canada Bay

After an urban bushwalk, I recuperate with some loss-leading multinational nourishment. 

Tempe 

Now for something different. At the back of my mind, I had already completed this suburb, but it turns out that I never did and am conflating its memories with neighbouring Newtown. Here's the Inner West's own

Here's a vaguely fun fact. 

This year I'm challenging myself to walk really bloody far. Whereas I ordinarily would limit these suburbsing outings to 5 or 10km of walking a day, on this day Google tells me I walked 22km (starting at Sefton a few blog posts ago). Well, these next two suburbs are the final two of a day out that brought me from Western Sydney across into the Inner West. As a result, please excuse me if I've missed your favourite something-or-other in these suburbs.

Now with that established, let's enjoy the final suburb of the year.

Strathfield

In the words of the wise philosophers of the yesteryear, The Backstreet Boys, "oh my god, we're back again". 

I hope you made it to the other side of the latest instalment of this apocalypse in good spirits and good health. Now, cast your mind back to June, when I promised for this blog's 3rd Anniversary Special to spend a month going to the eight suburbs that you, the reader, most wanted to see. 

In eighth place (well - equal fifth - it turns out that when you do a poll with 300 options for a blog that gets a few hundred readers on a good day you get a lot of ties), you voted me onto a bus to the Inner West.

Haberfield

This next suburb is another Inner West spot, meaning we get to look at interesting old architecture, read some anti-colonial posters, and eat brunch.

Stanmore

I've spent the past couple of weeks now hanging out at the bays of the Inner West. You're probably getting pretty bored of that now. Luckily I now have something different - a suburb on the bays of the Inner West. 

Drummoyne 

Last I left you, I was enjoying the Bay Run Stroll through Russell Lea and Rodd Point. Well, following the path east leads into Drummoyne. 

Here are two more suburbs you probably don't know much about, in the bays of the Inner West.  

Russell Lea

Prior to coming here, my only knowledge of this place is that its name reminds me of that one chicken shop. Well now I can add to my knowledge that Russell Lea sits east of my previous suburb, Wareemba. 

This meant getting in on foot, and immediately starting on a residential neighbourhood. 

Before I start, this is your obligatory reminder to vote in the poll of where I travel to in August, if you haven't already. 

Next, I bring you one of the smallest suburbs in Sydney (but not the smallest, that's Englorie Park in Southwest Sydney). 

Wareemba

Wareemba is an Inner West suburb immediately south of Abbotsford. To get in, I continued my stroll down Buffalo and Bison Bay and crossed into the suburb. 

Next in line is another Inner West 'burb along Parramatta River. 

Abbotsford

From my previous suburb of Chiswick, Abbotsford is just a shared piece of parkland away (Wire Mill Reserve, for those playing along at home).

It's time for yet another Sydney suburb named after some place in London. 

Chiswick

Chiswick is a waterside Inner West spot. This means that I was able to come in via a scenic, government subsidised harbour cruise, albeit on a slightly gloomy day. 

After not too long an absence, I'm back in the Inner West. Let's go. 

Summer Hill

Some time ago I starting using a mini-region of Sydney called "Canada Bay" to gather up the suburbs around Rhodes and Cabarita which claim to be the Inner West, but really aren't. Well this next suburb is technically in the city of Canada Bay, but I reckon is actually in the Inner West. (On a side note, some time I want to sit down and work out what I think the borders of all the regions of Sydney are - I think it might make an interesting, controversial article or video.) Anyway, here's a suburb.

Five Dock 

Merry Christmas (eve)! 

This next suburb is interesting for being both in the Inner West as well as the Southwest, straddling both sides of the Cooks River. 

Canterbury

Do you like Ashfield? How about Canterbury? Well do I have the suburb for you. 

Ashbury

These next two suburbs have a surprisingly interesting aspect to them. While sitting within the Inner West's bounds, they offer hints as to where the Inner West end and Western and Southwest Sydney starts.
